So today at supper, I broke out my front tooth. Yeah, wonderful! I had to make a dentist appointment for tomorrow AFTER work. How embarrassing I have to go to work with a missing tooth, and I am a nurse. Wonderful. I guess my biggest concern is can I have dental work when I am pregnant? I will have to ask them tomorrow. Hopefully everything works out for the best! We will see what the dentist says tomorrow. I is just a crazy little thing that happens in life. Oh well, I will live through it and tomorrow will be a better day!

We are getting slammed by another winter storm. I just wish spring would arrive already. I guess I need to start singing, "I'm dreaming of a white Easter, just like no other easter I can remember." It is a bummer to see this kind of snow in April. This is our 3rd or 4th winter storm in April. I wonder what May has up her sleeve for us. Hoping Spring will come sometime soon, would love to start walking my 5 miles again outside and not on the treadmill. Dang the treadmill is getting boring already. Come on Spring, its time already. Happy Spring everybody. Hoping your spring is going better than here in Wisconsin.

Does anyone know how to change fonts and not get an ERROR! I am trying to update my blog with new fonts and colors but it is not allowing me do to do so. it tells me I have an ERROR! I am getting really frustrated here! It is driving me nuts. Do I have to change my template to get all those other settings? It is just not making any sense to me. Can someone please help out here!!!

So Dale and I have started on the house, and working slowly at staining everything that we need to get done.
We picked out our tile, carpet, fireplace, cabinets, wood flooring and Medallion for the wood floor. It is amazing at what we have done in these last few weeks. We both are very happy!

Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin Swap Meet

On Sunday, Dale and I went to a swap meet and flea market in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. It was a great time to spend some much needed time with my husband. We bought 4 items. The first was a Popsicle metal sign. Dale said it reminded him of me, for I really enjoy Popsicles. He Said the girl on the sign has my cocky look as well. Got to love him! So yes we purchased it for $6.

Our second purchase was this wonderful Campbell's Soup sign. I saw it and had to have it for my new garage. I know pathetic! But it is way fun. Right! And at a bargain price of $2

Our next purchase was this 1960's peach pedal car. Yeah it was a good deal and it is super sweet. It is a great idea for children. It has the original paint from the 1960's. It is a Superb item. Dale is going to re-list this item on E bay. We will see if we make a profit.

Then Dale and I purchased these vintage roller skates. I had a pair of these when I was a kid, and they were cool. You just belt your shoes right on and off you go ~ rollerskating. Yes, it is the finest things in life that makes me happy. We are going to be doing a lot of swap and flea markets this year to find old and rustic things for the house. Wish us luck as our long adventure is starting!

Went last night and picked out our flooring for the kitchen, and bathrooms. Went to Lowe's saw nothing that caught my eye. Went to Home Depot.... Loved lots, picked out every bathroom, and the kitchen tile. Now we have to pick out carpet and hard wood flooring. We also picked out our inside doors. Very rustic looking, but it is a log home. This is such an exciting time for Dale and I, we just can't stop thinking about it.. It is going to be amazing when we get done with the house. It is going to be one heck of a dream house. And it will be all mine..... Yay for me!!!

Dale and I in the next couple of weeks will be doing a lot on our house. We may even finish it this year. Can you believe we have been building a 2600 square foot house for about 6 years now. I can not believe that we are finally going to finish it. This is so exciting for Dale and I. We can not believe it ourselves. We also have a lot more exciting news but will wait for another posting for that. Hopefully before July 4th we will be finally living in our new home. We are EXCITED!!! We can hardly wait... Wish us luck as our wonderful adventure begins!

What a week!!!

Last week was a real stressful week. One night I ended up in ER for dehydration and other issues that I have been having. It was a very stressful event. By the time we got to ER I was so lightheaded and dizzy I couldn't even walk straight. They put an IV in after the fourth or fifth time and gave me one liter of fluids. Sent me for other tests and then made me wait 3 hours for the results of the tests. Talk about stressful. But in the end everything was doing great! Which made me very blessed and thankful.
The next thing that happen was Dale my wonderfully amazing husband put the truck through the garage door. Yes you heard me right... Right through our carriage doors on the new house. They were only in the house approximately 8 months at the most. Oh well, they are going to cost 2000 dollars to fix.

The next thing that happened was the cats knocked over one of our lamps in the living room, Lucky they didn't break it, but boy was it close.

I am just hoping for a better week!!!

I am thankful that I have a god that I believe in
I am thankful for my faith
I am thankful that I have a job when most of the country is out of work

Skiing

I am not much of a downhill skier, but I love cross country skiing. Sometimes I go with some friends on the trails that are in the area and it is SUPER fun. Today, I took the dog around the field a time or two. She was sore when we were done, but she was grinning the whole time from ear to ear. So here we are starting out on our skiing mission. So I have been wanting to learn how to knit for a while because I want to start making blankets. But I haven't figured out how to do the second row. I have not clue. First row check.... Second row falls a part every time I try to put in the second row, what am I doing wrong? I have watched many, many, many, U Tube videos but they go so fast I just can't pick it up. I might have to admit I am a slow learner. Ouch that really hurt to say. Does any one out there know how to knit the second, third, forth and so on rows of stitching so I can get this started and maybe complete one before I am 50 or so. LOL. I guess I might just have to watch another couple of U tube videos to get the whole scoop. Maybe it would help if I wouldn't get frustrated half way through the video. Any who could someone help out someone in need. Post me a video or just explain it in GREAT detail how to get another row started. Would totally appreciate it! Thanks Peeps

Childrens books

I was just looking on E Bay and came across these children's books that I decided to purchased for 99 cents. Yes I purchased all five children's books for 99 cents. I think that was a steal of a deal so I purchased them. They finally came in today and they still have the shrink wrap on three of the five books that I purchased. So three of them are still brand spanking new. Awesome deal!!. I am so happy that I came across this wonderful deal. It is truly exciting when you find a good deal and it is worth purchasing. I am just glad that when we finally have children we can read to them out of our first collection of children's books. The books that I have purchased are Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Animal Stories, Disney's Classic Story Book, and Disney's Storybook Collection. Do you think this was a good deal? I know books are going out because of the new technology but I am not ready to move on when I find a good deal.

Creativity

This past weekend I went to the fabric store and found this really cute quilt for baby. I know, I do not have a baby but we are trying so that has to count for something. So I am not completely losing it and I am not totally jumping the gun! I just want to be ahead of the program. So anyways, I saw this quilt and I thought it was the cutest thing so I just had to buy it. I do not believe it is impulse shopping or anything.
My plan for this beautiful quilt is to dig out my sewing machine and sew the border on the edging and maybe even do some stitch work on the quilt. I do have a sewing machine that I bought brand new 2 years ago. I think I only used it one time and decided I wasn't interested in it anymore. Yeah, I know what a waste of valuable cash flow. I am finally going to wipe the dust off it and start making baby quilted blankets. I think they will look cute as a button. So I will sew on the pink border around the edging of the blanket and then, we will see what other creativity I come up with. If I never have a baby, maybe I will make these and sell them on E Bay, who really knows with me! Wish me luck as I wipe the cobwebs off my sewing machine and start a creative way to let time pass!

I have been lost for words lately, I am not sure what to blog about. I have always liked sitting in my study and blogging but after November and what Dale and I went through I have been finding it harder and harder to blog about happy things. I am however, going to start blogging at least 3 -4 times a week, even if it is something that has no meaning at all. I just need to do it.
I have started a new position at where I work and absolutely love it.. It is great. I know...I know... Boring..
My news year resolution... I would have to say ...... to forgive quicker. I am the kind of person who holds grudges and I do not want to be that person anymore. I am so sick of being that kind of person! I need to finally look past the hurt people have caused me in my life and just learn to forgive them. If I can accomplish that this year, I know I can accomplish many great things. I will start slow and work things out before they get too hurtful. What is your News Years Resolution.. Oh and yes I know its a little late, but its never too late to change something in your life that needs a little attention!

Hard times for the Richter's

These last few weeks were a very hard for Dale and I.. We found out that we were pregnant. We were 7 weeks pregnant and we were happy and cheerful, we were finally pregnant. We had so much excitement. But then the rug come out from underneath our feet when I miscarried the baby.. We were both heart broken. I have never cried so hard in my whole life. I am so hurt. I question everything... Why.....Why did it have to happen to us? We would have giving this child so much love.. Why did we have to miscarry our baby? Why is there so many people getting abortions why did we have to miscarry? Why is so many teens pregnant, why did we have to miscarry our baby? It is shocking, heartbreaking to realize what was happening. It hurts everyday. I have a very hard time with it, it isn't easy to loose a child, I know I haven't even met them, but I was totally in love with him/her...Everything that i have ever went through in my life, I would have to say this was the hardest...It has been a week now, but I think about it constantly. I am so lost. I go to work just to get away from what I am truly feeling inside. I finally had a piece of dale, and I lost it... I am so heart broken....
I know you all are saying try again...It is harder than you think. I have a rare vaginal bacteria, that I have to take antibiotics. Dale has to take the same antibiotics for 14 days...I have to take them for 7 month, during my menses... I have to clear up this bacteria before I will allow a child to grow within me.. I have to take precautions. Better to be safe then sorry... I so long to have a child of our own. I am not sure how I will ever get over losing my first child... But I will learn how to deal with it... And we will try again!

This pasts week was a very sad week for the Richter family, for we lost a very dear friend and father. What I remember about Pa Richter: When I first started dating Dale (My husband) his dad loved me from day one. I never had to prove anything to him... He loved me for who I was and not for someone that I could never be. I only felt comfortable around a handful of people from my husbands side. Now every person who I felt comfortable and accepted with are in the another world, we all refer to as heaven...
I remember on an occasion, when Dales dad took me to pick up a lawn mower and I riped off the rear view mirror inside the truck. I was scared, for I thought he was going to tell me a few words... But to my surprise he smiled and then Dominic took the mirror from my shaking hands and said, "Glad that is out of my way now, maybe I can see something" We both had a great laugh.. I will always remember him as a caring man. I will never for get him, for he makes me want to become a better person. I will miss you, until the day comes when we meet again. And I will greet you with a big hug, but until then I will take care of your one amazing son......

Gray bag mystery is that I have bought these extra large thick towels for three dollars a piece, thick hand towels for one dollar and fifty cents and thick wash clothes for fifty cents. Awesome deal right. I purchased four of each color that you see above. So for each color I have four hand towels, four bath towels, and four wash clothes. I am so excited!!! They are the thickest material I have ever seen on towels we are so getting more excited to get further with the progress on the house !!!

So last weekend I went to Kohl's and found these awesome items that I bought which are in these bags!! The item is for my home when it is finished. Can anyone guess what I bought for $3.00 a piece. What is a cheap house hold item. But, let me tell you how amazed I was that what is in these bags should not been so cheap for each one retailed for 9-18 dollars a piece. I am so excited that I am a super saver, or did they just have the item marked up that high, any who, I am still a very happy customer at Kohl's. The only bad thing is that I have to store these items until the house gets done, but who cares, I am just excited to buy new things for my new home... You just can't have enough of what is in the bags!! Any Guesses to what is in these large gray Kohl's bags???

On Saturday however Dale and I had a great time at an auction. Dale bought his first vending machine. A 1960 Bottle Coca Cola Pop Machine. It is so cool, and I love putting in quarters just to take a pop out, even though I don't drink the soda it is great to mess around with the equipment.

American Idol

Dale and I have been getting totally involved with watching American Idol on Tuesday and Wednesdays. We just can't get enough of it. I was really surprised that Siobhan Magnus was voted off last night. Always like her songs but Simon is completely right the screaming was getting old, and obviously America agreed, because she left the sweet American Idol lifestyle last evening. So good luck and farewell to you; Siobhan!

Good luck to the rest of the contestants. Dale and I are personally rooting for Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox. So good luck Crystal......

This past week, Dale and I got lots done on the new home.

We got our arch for our master bathroom completed!!

We got our pocket doors in for our closet, laundry room and door for master bath

Accomplishment

Well, I have been working out for a little while now and I have been just walking a lot, but for about 2 months I have started running. Well, this week I ran a total of 12 miles, which does not include my 5 miles that I did on the elliptical machine. Yeah, I know for the average runner, this is a piece of cake but for me, I am just proud of my accomplishment. And my butt looks and feels a bit tighter :)

Celebrating my birthday

For my birthday, Dale took me to this wonderful place to eat for lunch and we LOVED it. It has a mouth watering taste. I had there rotisserie chicken, it was the juiciest white meat I have ever tasted. Dale ordered the grilled chicken breast, he also stated it was wonderful. I got to try a little bit of his but I thought mine was better because his tasted kind of burnt from the grill, but the overall experience was fantastic!!! And yes, I would go there again...

Addiction

I have to admit I have an addiction to scrubs, I absolutely love them. I have so many cute scrubs, I love getting compliments for wearing a new scrub outfit. I guess I should be glad that I work in the medical feild, because then I can wear them 3 times per week. I wish I could wear scrubs everyday. They are comfortable and very stylish. But for running around in town, not so much.

What can I say everyone is addicted to something, my addition is professional attire. Crazy I know...

I think this sink/ vanity will look excellent in that room. I am in love with rustic and natural looking items. What do you think?

Clean Cat

Can you believe that our cat SIMBA loves to be vacuumed. He could just lay there all day and allow you to vacuum him. Helps with less hair in the house. Dale does it once a week, but to Simba he could have it done every day. I am telling you he will sit and cry while you are vacuuming the carpet until he gets his fur vacuumed. He is so precious. The other three of our cats are terribly scared of the vacuum cleaner. I sure wished they would like to be vacuumed too.

So this past weekend, Dale and I put up the drywall on the house we we amazed on how quickly we got it up and how nice it looks. I am proud of our accomplishments that we have done. We are one step closer to moving into the new home!

Rub A Dub Dub, We Bought Our Whirl Pool Tub

The progress on the house is going Great! This past Friday the plumber told us, that we had to get our shower heads picked out and our tub for the upstairs bathroom. We were pretty unsure of what we really wanted up in that bathroom, we decided to go to town and go shopping. Shopping for house hold things is always fun. After long consideration, Dale and I have decided to go with a corner whirl pool tub made by Jacuzzi. It has 12 jets and it also has a heater to keep the water warm. I am excited with the progress on our house. We went to Home Depot to realize we hated what they had to offer. Then we went to Lowe's and there it was white and sparky, the tub of our dreams. We bought it and we brought it home. I think once the tile is around the tub it will be a gorgeous bathroom, and a nice addition to our home.

Dale and I have been building our home for like 3 to 5 years, I think I lost count after 3, but whose counting anyways. We are finally making some progress on the house. It always feels good to have progress, it makes both of us feel that we are moving further ahead in our lives. If we weren't spending every penny we earn on the house, just think of the other STUFF we could have. Oh well, for now the house will have to do. Every time someone goes into the house to make the progress to help us move forward we get more and more excited. So we are finally getting the heating and the cooling in the house, and yes I am ecstatic. A lot of people think that building a new home with there husband is stressful, but I absolutely love the adventure. We find many different styles and different ideas that we each have. It is fun and exciting every bit of the adventure. I would not change it for anything. I guess I just can't wait till September because Dale and I will be living in the new home and we can put this chapter to a close and move on to the next chapter in our lives whatever that may be.

The Vacuum Cleaner Cat

I have never had a cat that loves the vacuum cleaner. He literally chases the vacuum when we are using it. He will also allow you to vacuum his loose fur off him. He is crazy and not afraid of anything. He definitely is not a scaredey cat. The other cats that we have run for there dear life. I think dale fell in love with Simba a little bit more because he allows him to vacuum the loose hair off of him. What an amazing creature we have in our life.

Devastation of Haiti earthquake

About a month ago, there was complete destruction to Haiti caused by a 7.0 earthquake. Many people lost there homes, schools, friends, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, mom's, dad's and children. It was a terrible day for this country. They lost many loved ones. there are so many children in orphanages who don't have anyone they can trust. the number of children in orphanages will increase due to this destruction. Why does mother nature have to be so harsh? Why does so many people have to suffer? Why is life so hard? Can't everything just go as planned, there were so many innocent people that died that day. So many young children. Did god need angels that he took so many in a couple of days time. Or was that out of his control. Is life for these people of Haiti ever going to get better? What kind of a life do they have? Losing all the ones they love and adore. How much hardship do they have to endure. It just gets me thinking that so many people no matter color or race, they suffer so dramatically. What was the reasoning, was there a higher power? I have no clue. I surely wouldn't be asking.
I have thought about adopting one of these children but the dollar signs always get in the way. I wished there was an easier way to adopt a child from another country then to pay such crazy amount of money for a child that has literally nothing and they have no family. What is the country doing to these innocent children. I have no clue.
I have been pondering the thought of children for about 4 months now, I don't foresee Dale and I getting pregnant and having a children. I don't think we can. We have been married 9 years and absolutely no oops has ever happened. So this year I will concentrate on building the house and maybe I will adapt a child from another country. Who knows what life will bring once we have a nice home to bring up our children in. Ponder never hurt any one.
What is your feelings on the devastation that happened in Haiti? I just hope and pray they will recover and grow into a stronger and more organized country. for they can't bear anymore sorrow or hardship..

I have been upping my exercise everyday, and the other day my Elliptical machine went out, so last evening I went and bought a new one. It was on sale but I asked the salesman to come down with the price because the other sports store had the same one for 100 dollars cheaper. I was ecstatic when he took off a few more hundred dollars to keep my service. I bought the elliptical then and there and this morning we put it together and I worked out on it this morning as well. It is an awesome piece of equipment, and I got a damn good work out this morning my legs were shaking afterward. I am happy with this buy, original price $1499, my price $300. I couldn't have gotten a better deal. I am happy to have a new one.. And the old one is listed on eBay...

Well for Valentines day I was so tired and exhausted from working, I came home to find out Dale had bought me these delish chocolate covered strawberry's. They were excellent. I was afraid they would not be sweet because they are out of season, but they were a taste bud explosion. They tasted great and it turned into a great day! Thanks Dale for loving me...

I just finished reading forever by Judy Blume yesterday. Yes it was good, it is about teens and sex if you like that kind of book. I don't personally think that I would appreciate if my teen was reading this book, but she is a teen author. It was a really good book. It really helps the adult population understand the pressures kids go throw these days. You find our that peer pressure for a teen is really hard, but you have to have good parenting skills on sex and drugs. The ending of the book was not how I expected it to end, but it was a really good ending. It is a fast read I read the whole book in 4 hours.

New love

Dale and I have found our new love for washing clothes after purchasing Whirlpool duets, they are an awesome set. This morning Dale woke up at the crack of dawn to wash clothes, then when I got up around 7 am I was a little jealous that he had all the clothes washed already, so I made a little bit more laundry and decided to wash it. They are great, awesome, I think I am in LOVE.
When both machines are running it looks like a Christmas tree in the laundry room. I am definitely excited to wash clothes. Those people at whirlpool know exactly what they are doing. We got this duet set for a SWEET bargain deal from a great guy. It pays to know people in the appliance business.

I just finished reading the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. I started it this morning and finished it today as well. It is an excellent book, I just couldn't put it down. I would advise you to read it if you like to read. You will cry, laugh, and get angry, it is an awesome book. That Nicholas Sparks knows how to write books. Read it tell me what you think. The movie is coming out in February, go see it...

A Great Weekend

Today was a great day. Dale and I took a two hour ride to Eagle River Wisconsin, where they have this annual ice castle. The pictures don't do the castle justice. It was beautiful.. I just want to share it with the world. The volunteers who put this castle together did an awesome job and spent many hours doing it. It is a great way to help the community look even more beautiful, when you add something so neat and unique to the community it draws in people to the community. Way to go Eagle River!! It was a great day.. Spent time with a wonderful man, my husband and had an all around awesome day.

piercing and tattoos

So a few years back, I wanted a change my body so I went and got my belly button pierced. It was probably the worst thing I've done because it hurt so bad and it was alway infected, I couldn't button my pants because it was always in the way. It wasn't as sexy as I thought it would be. Everyone was getting them all my friends at the cheese factory, and all my sisters had it done. It was like the stupidest thing I think I ever did to my body. I was relieved when one day my body pushed out the piercing. It is just a scar now but sometimes when my pants rub on the scar it feels like it is still in my belly button. Dale however thought it was attractive, until he touched it and I screamed, after that it was a headache for both of us.
I have wanted a tattoo since I was like 22 years old. I know exactly what I want now after all those years of thinking about it on and off. At one point in my life I had a tattoo artist draw up a picture of a a 1969 chevelle, that I was going to put on my entire back. I know, I know not so smart. It would have costed me 625 dollars, but hey it would have been cool for a while. It would have been cool at car shows, but I never show my back to anyone except for Dale of course. Now, I just would like a small little tattoo to say yes, I got a tattoo and be done with it all. Some thing elegant on my back is probably what I am thinking I will do. Yes, I know it is a per meant and once you get one there no turning back. I don't know, I will probably never get one but I have always wanted one. Butterfly, flowers, tigers, etc they are all kind of cute. I enjoy looking at tattoos when someone gets one or my patients have an old one. The only think is when I get old do I want a wilted rose, a wrinkled butterfly and tiger. I also think of HIV and Hepatitis A, B, and C. I guess you have to go somewhere where they are spic and span. Its all about cleanliness. You are probably wondering why in the world would I want something so stupid. I think I just have to give my body a little character. Change is all I am going to say...

New Year..

I have decided this is the year. Dale and I will be moving into the new home, I am definitely going to lose those extra couple pounds that lingered on my butt, and I am definitely going to start writing books. Story line books that is, So happy to finally be trying something new. I can hardly wait to finish what I have started and then move on to something else in my life. I definitely think 2010 is my year, so bring it on!!

This new years eve was great! I spent time with my wonderful and loving husband. We made supper together and drank wine that we bought on our vacation, and then we watched a movie. It was not that great of a movie but it was worth it because we spent the time together. How was your New Years Eve??

Well, this past weekend my treadmill went out. We bought the old treadmill out of the paper for 25 $$ Dirt cheap and I was so excited about it. The last couple of monthes the treadmill just didn't work as it should so we went out and bought a new one, i am so excited to use the new one it works GREAT. Let just say I will use it everyday.. That's all I'm going to say is bring on the new year!

What are good New Year's Resolutions for 2010?

According to Newsvine and many other websites the top ten new years resolutions are:

1. Loose weight: Everybody wants to loose that extra pound and think oh the new year will be a great time to do that, WRONG, that doesn't work. Many people sign up for fitness centers in January for the whole year and only go for the first month and waste a lot of money. I don't think that that will work for me. For I have my own exercise equipment at home. And I use it everyday.. I don't need to pay outrageous amounts of money, so people can watch me while I work out.

2. Stick to a budget: This one is good, and I think I might just have to use it because I want to live in my new home in 2010, There are many times when you think I really need/want this item. I have to start self thinking. When I have those thoughts, I have to start thinking to myself is it a WANT or is it a NEED. Can I or can I not live without this item. Most of the time you can live without the item. I guess I am going to start, waiting a week before I buy anything, because after a week if you still need the item then it was meant to be. But most of the time you will just forget about the item that you were looking at. I am going to say Good bye to impulse buying..

3. Debt reduction: Dale and I have a few debts but they are mainly our mortgages, so I will just try not to get ourselves into a lot of extra added debt that we don't need. Watch what we spend and not get things that are not really a need. Watching for sales and not buying things for full price. I only want to move into the new log home.

4. Enjoy quality time with family and friends: I like this one a lot, but what do you do when you don't get along with your biological family? Maybe I can adopt a family. Probably should work on getting a better relationship with Dales family. Or does this mean start a family?? I am not sure...

5. Find my soul mate: Found him, would be lost without him. This is definitely not going to be one of my news year resolutions.

6. Quit Smoking: I don't smoke, it has been 10 years since my last cigarette, I quit cold turkey. This definitely ain't going to be my news year resolution either. But, I will encourage my friends to quit smoking for it will help there pocket book and also there health and their families health as well.

7. Find a better job: I really do have a good job, maybe the hours could get better. But, I don't want a so called job, I want to be financially free and start something new. But, for now my job will do. I will keep looking for that something new.

8. Learn something new: This is a great one for me. What will I start, where will I start, I guess, I will have to research it. I have many ideas that I am going to try in 2010, wish me luck.

9. Volunteer: I have always wanted to volunteer at the special Olympics and also at the Humane Society. This year might just be the year.

10. Get organized: I guess everyone could work on this one. I could use a little organization in my ebay store. My house, however; is always clean.

I would guess my biggest News Year Resolution would be to be in the new home living and moving on with our next chapter in our life, and I believe Dale would agree to that.

I love getting mail. Yesterday, I got a letter from my pen friend in Germany. We have been writing to each other for many years. We started writing to each other when I was in 8th grade Spanish class. I know you are probably thinking Spanish and I have a German friend, how does this work. Well, we got to choose anywhere in the world where we wanted a friend from and I choose Germany. So I got a female friend by the name of Janine, but the same day I actually washed her address when I washed my school clothes. I was so upset that I had to be so stupid, to wash my pen friends address. But, in a month I got a letter from Germany and it was from a girl by the name of Janine. I was super excited, I riped the envelope open so carefully so I did not ripe the her address and we have been writing ever since.
So, I am 31 and we have been writing since I was in the 8th grade, so it has been, well, a long time, and I will allow you do to do the math. It is amazing that we are still writing to each other. Many would have stopped writing within the first 5 years because everyone has such busy lives, but for me and Janine, we keep in touch pretty regularly. I am always super excited to get a letter from her..
She got married in August, and she made a beautiful bride. Don't you think???
I enjoy writing to my pen friend and hope we keep writing to each other for many years to come.

Yesterday, I felt like Betty Crocker. I made 17 dozen cookies and made dale 3 dozen more pieces of his favorite candy for Christmas. Today, I don't feel like baking at all. I made peanut butter cookies, peanut butter and kiss cookies, chocolate chips, Christmas cut outs 2 different kinds. It was fun, but today I don't feel like doing any cooking at all. So I will make Dale lunch and be done for the day. Happy Holidays everyone...

Good Christmas Movie

I have always been a fan of Patrick Swayze. I absolutely loved Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and Roadhouse. These were all HOT movies when I was a teenager. To me he has always been a very good actress and good looking as well. When I realized he did a last movie before he died I just has to watch it, and again he strikes. Loved it!! Christmas in Wonderland is an awesome Christmas movie. I will probably rent it again and watch it over and over. He never seem to put me down with his movies. You are probably wondering if he looked sick in this movie, because he had pancreatic cancer. Well he still was a good actor and yes he was a little thinner than I remember him being, because he was always kinda buff. But, he played an awesome part.

This year I am planning on cooking thanksgiving and taking it to my mother in laws. My sister in law and her family will be there and Dale's mother and of course Dale and I. I have everything bought. I have pumpkin pies in the oven. Dale and I went grocery shopping on Saturday to get everything we needed for the meal. It will be YUMMY..
We bought a 24.3 pound turkey. I absolutely love turkey, turkey sandwiches, turkey soups and other really good meals to make with left over turkey. I am excited. I love to cook. I also bought 10 pounds of potatoes to make mashed potatoes and gravy. Stuffing, cranberries, and green bean casserole. Never made green bean casserole but this year I am going to give it a stab. I am also making homemade biscuits. YUMMY is all I can say. Debbie am I forgetting something for thanksgiving? Hope its a good day. The only bad thing is that I have to work the night before, so I have to get a little sleep before 11 am so I can get everything done that I am planning. It will be grand!!

New Moon

Brittany and I tried to go to New Moon the last couple of days, but every day it has been sold out. I guess you have to buy tickets in advance to actually get tickets for this movie. It like this all over? I guess this week I will just have to order the tickets and go and see it with Dale. Has anyone seen it yet, and how was it?? Today, I am thankful that there is still some really good movies out there without all the violence and the swearing that seem to fill up the movies now days. The other night, Dale and I rented Keith. It was a really cute movie. However, it did make me cry at times, laugh at times, and awe at times. It was a very good movie and I would recommend this movie to all my friends. It is a chick flick but Dale loved it for we watched it 3 times together. Rent it and tell me what you think.

New Furniture

For Christmas, I asked Dale for new furniture for the living room. The thing is we need to be practical about what we choose, because next year we will be living in the new house and want to take what we buy into our new home. Dale choose one and so did I now it is which one is more practical for both living arrangements.

Dale's pick:

So this one dale picked, it is a nice color, looks kind of worn out, rustic looking which is fine with my decor. It is like a suede material. Probably hard to keep clean. But, it is so comfortable, you could probably sleep in it all day long. Love seat/ theater couch has glider recliners on both ends and a small love seat. This piece of furniture can sit 4 people comfortably, and each person has their own cup holders. This piece of furniture also has 2 really deep compartments to stash stuff into, which is nice. Dale's choice would look excellent in our home now but when we move into the house, I don't think it will look so hot. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...
So what do you think of dales pick???

So the piece of furniture that I picked is 2 toned, leather and microfiber. The bottom is leather, top part is microfiber. It is a L shaped sectional sofa so you can seat at least 7 people comfortably and it has 4 recliners, but they are not glider recliners like in Dales choice. Has one very small compartment for storing things. It is very comfortable. This piece would work beautifully now and will work beautifully later in our new home we are building. We can also buy a really cool teal and brown rug for in front of the sectional sofa that would look awesome in front of this one but not the other one.

Both pieces of furniture are priced about the same, mine might be a little bit higher. We need to make a decision and be happy about what we pick..
So my question to my peps is what do you think? Do you like Dales choice better or do you like mine?? Please leave comments....

It is very scary, to think in a split second you could go to work and not have a job. The worst part about all the lay offs is that they always seem to happen right around the holidays, the time when everyone needs the extra money. This year for Christmas, I am going to give the unfortunate a little something.

Today I am thankful for having a few days off of work.. I am a nurse at a hospital in a small town and this week I started working nights for one month. It is hard on me and my husband Dale. We are trying so hard to adjust to the new change in our life,but like I said it is very very hard. People aren't supposed to be up at night, that is just pure craziness.
Well, the reason I am happy to be off work for 2 days is last night at work I really had a rough time. I had two people die, one person went into fluid overload and another patient I cardio- arrested him. It was so emotionally draining. I walked into my first room and she was dead. The second patient I went to assess was having trouble breathing so I called respiratory and called the doctor and we had a lot of now medications that needed to be given. The Third patient, I walked into the room and he took his last breath. By the time, I left his room I was crying, I certainly could tell it was Friday the 13th. It wasn't a very good start to my day, so when the supervisor called up to the floor and asked me if I wanted to go home early, I said "Heck yeah" little did I know I was going to hit someones black cat on the way home. The question is do you stop in the middle of the country at 4 am and try to find the owner of a BLACK cat? How many wild cats are out there, this cat might not have been anyones. I said a small prayer for this cat and hoped it would make it to kitty heaven and I kept right on driving along until I got home. When I got home I was so relieved to be home I just took a shower and went straight to bed, and today I have a better outcome of my day. Hope you all had a wonderful, fabulous, and Crazy Friday the 13th, hope there isn't anymore crazy days for a while...

My life in 2009

With today being the last day October, we all know we are soon approaching November. I have made many changes in my life the last few months and maybe someday I will regret what I have done but for now it is going good and make me a little more at ease. I have started cutting people from my family out of my life, What can I say I am sick of being put down and I am an adult...
I am an adult and I can make my own choices and I plan on not allowing the negative into my life. I guess the hardest thing I had to do is cut out my mother, but I can't handle the thought of her putting me down for the rest of my life. I am the only one in my family who made something out of themselves and I am the one she gives the most grief. Why because she is not happy and she wants me to feel as bad as she does.
My dad was my only encouragement he told me to go to school and get out of the factory and I know that if he was here he would be happy for me. I just will keep living and try to block out the negative in my life any way I have to. Sometimes tough love hurts so much you can't stand it, but sometimes it is the the only way.

What has 2009 brought Dale and I

We have had a lot of progress on our beautiful home. It is very exciting to see so much progress over the year. Maybe in 2010 we will be living in our new home, hope is all I can say. And maybe 2011 we might plan a family. Just up in the air..

In March, a great person close to my heart past away, he was a great person and fabulous to be around, he just lit up the room when he was around. We all sure miss Bob.

Then in May, I found my heart was not doing so good and I went for an echo cardiogram and an ultra sound of my heart and found my heart was not as progressive as they had hoped, but something they told me didn't make any since. So being the nurse that I am I looked into to it more. To me my heart looked fine. They told me I had a 60% ejection fraction which is never good. With this kind of news I didn't want to believe that my heart was that bad. Was it really that bad, and when I came home from the doctor I told Dale that I am not sure what is going on, but I don't think they know what they are talking about. I was heart broken and thought oh my goodness is this really happening again to me. I thought for sure my luck was really bad but when I thought about I knew deep down inside that it couldn't be true. But, I didn't do anything about it until they called to say they wanted to do the surgery on my heart. At that moment a red flag went up. I said what the heck, seriously it looked fine and why would they want to do a surgery on a perfectly good heart. At that moment I called my cardiologist and made an appointment to see him, and after that appointment I was so happy because he confirmed my diagnosis. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my heart my thyroid was slowing down, and he put me on thyroid medication and now I am perfectly fine. I learned to follow my gut feeling and believe in my self. Other wise I could have been under the knife, for a missed diagnosis, thank god every day for double checking with my cardio doc.

In June, Brittany moved out of our home and moved into an apartment with her boyfriend. I am so happy she graduated but hope she can keep her life straightened out. She is an amazing girl but has no common since or reality on the future or real life issues.

In August, Dale and I went on an amazing vacation, something I will never forget. We have so much fun together and it is amazing how wonderful Dale and i get along. I know our love is so strong we can withstand anything.

In September, My brother started a new life with his new wife and started a family. She is a great woman for him and I am happy she is part of the family.

Then in October, nothing too major happen and now we are moving into a new month of November which has been the hardest month for me since 1999, the year my father past away.....

Mystery film

Five rolls of mystery film were found this morning while cleaning. I am going to take them in this afternoon and see what is on all 5 of these rolls.
This is exciting because I don't remember the last time I had a 35 mm camera. What could possible be on these 5 rolls of film, cats, dogs, landscaping, friends or sky's. My other question is exactly how old is this film? Many questions running through my head but I will post some of the mystery pictures after I get them developed, if they turn out obviously...

The question a few years ago was, What do I want to do when I grow up" I choice the nursing path. Yesterday, I had a really bad day, I was thinking why am I a nurse? I like helping people don't get me wrong, but working short staffed and not being able to hire anyone sucks. Stupid employment freeze.
So we work short everyday, and not ever having enough staff. I am really getting sick and tired of this whole thing. yesterday was a bad day, because I had 3 out of my 5 patients going home and I had to redo the redo because the doctors changed there minds on the paper work eight or nine times after I had it done each time. So lets just say I worked 13 1/2 hours without eating anything or having any breaks. I think I am getting burnt out. Then on top of it, one of my co workers told me I gave her the wrong patient load. She had 3 patients, I had 5. I gave her the easiest patients on the floor and she still struggled and was pissy at me all day long.
I can not make everyone happy, so I am going to stop trying and just try to make myself happy when I am at work..

Exercising and eating right Part 2

So 3 days ago I started trying to eat right and exercising. Well, the exercising is going great, I have worked out the last 3 days and for 45 minutes each time. I love the way it is making me feel, and I can hardly wait for the results. However the eating right part, not so good. Yesterday I made this amazing apple pie. Did I pass on a piece for myself? No, I ate right up like it was going out of style, just my piece. Of course I went grocery shopping on Friday and bought everything healthy and spent 80 dollars at Wallie world. Then later on Friday, I took Dale and we spent another 180 dollars on a lot of junk. I can say though that I have only been drinking water and no soda or no juice or no Power-ade. I am happy about that. With this conclusion, I have lost 2 pounds in 3 days. So exercising does work work I just have to do it everyday...

Eatting right and exercising

I have been having issues with being obsessed with my weight and I have pledged to myself that I am going to drop 20 pounds and I am going to exercise every day for a few monthes and see what the results will be. I am also NOT going to drink any drinks with sugar in it, that means no more doctor Pepper. I am going to drop these extra pounds. I can do it because I want to do it. I will exercise on the treadmill everyday and also do my slim jam video that I purchased from ebay for less than 5 dollars. I can hardly wait to see the results in a couple of weeks. What is really going to affect me is work 13 to 14 hour shifts 3 days a week, but those day I will have to push my self extra hard. But because my mind is set to doing it I can do it. I am also going to eat better, no more snacking before supper, or after 730 at night. I will also drink lots and lots of water. I will try my best to lose a little bit of weight before Christmas, without putting it all back on, on Christmas day. Please help support my plan to become a healthier, leaner, and skinner me.

So to add to my older post about parenting I have had a bad time at the store last night with someone else's screaming kids. The question here is will there be kids in my future? Probably not after this....

Parenting

For a while now I have been thinking about starting a family. Would I be good at it?Would I totally suck at it? Would I like being a mom? Would Dale like being a Dad? Would I want a baby? Would I want to adapt? Do I want to become pregnant? Would it make life complicated? Would I know what to do? Is our relationship strong enough? Would I be strong enough?
Well lately I have wondered all of these questions. I love my life with just Dale. I totally love to be spoiled. But are we missing something. I always think it would be nice to have one or two, but do I really want any children. It is really hard for me to just come up with a decision. I know Dale doesn't want any and would I hurt our relationship if I asked? I don't want to jeopardize our relationship because of separate ideas. I am lost for words. How do you convince a man to have a child when he has his mind set on not having any? Why is a life changing situations so hard. How do I get the strength to come up and ask him. I have no idea.
Now you are probably asking yourself, is she afraid of her husband? The answer is no, he could not hurt a fly. But I don't want him to feel like I betrayed him or make him feel uncomfortable with me. You know I am not getting any younger. I am getting older. Now, every second counts.
The doctor said I may not even become pregnant with my age now. I am at higher risk of having a disable child or mentally delayed child. Do I want to do that to myself or the child? I was born with a bad heart. Would I be able to pull through the pregnancy? Would there be complications while in labor. Would Dale have to choose me or the child? I would not want him to make that decision. I am at loss. It is my fault for waiting so long to come up with answers. Dale may not even be able to get me pregnant for he was a late riser in his family. But whatever we will deal with the cards that were dealt to us.

Last week, at the hospital where I work I had a 92 year old patient. She was widowed, and never had any children because her husband was infertile. She told me on her death bed,the only thing in life she regretted was not having any children. As she laid there dying, I sat there thinking, holding her hand and looking around her room, she had no one. She was alone. All her siblings were dead, her husband was deceased, and she never had any children to hold her hand as I did when she took her last breath. I guess I just don't want to be alone when that time comes.

My husband Dale 4 days ago brought me this little darling home. I had to bottle feed him every 3 hours during the day and night. He was so little and I am so glad that he is finally eating out of a dish. We finally also picked out a name for him... SIMBA is what we have called him. What do you think of his name we choose for him. Do you think it is a cats name or not??
