Father's Day!

Yes, I realize that last weekend was father's day. I forgot all about it working 12 hours 4 days a week takes a lot out of a person. I came to the realization that it was last weekend when dale read my blog and said hey did you know Father's day was last weekend?
I woke up this morning and thought tomorrow was father's day. I figured I would do the ritual that I do every year. Get up and go to the cemetery where my father was laid to rest 9 years ago. Who knew that nine years ago when I was 21 years old I would lose my father from the complications to heart surgery. I knew his outcome of the surgery was 50% chance but who would have imagined that 14 days after his surgery he would have past on. I remember after his death, crying everyday on my way to work and on my way home from work being so upset that he was gone, never even saying my goodbyes or telling him how much he meant to me. Even after what I went through while I was young I still loved my father. I never once in my life told him that and I regret all the regrets that I didn't do while he was alive. I wished our relationship was a lot better than it was before his passing. If one knew what they know now would they have changed it. I believe in some circumstance you would and some you wouldn't. After he passed away, I remember telling my sister I would give up anything in my life to have one more day with him, but I believe god had better plans for him.

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.
If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.
If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.
